- San Carlo Opera - the beautiful San Carlo opera house near Piazza del Plebiscito is newly restored; they start their new season with Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes on 1/25, 1/27, 1/30, 2/1, and 2/3. Also coming up: a concert of Mozart's "Jupiter" symphony and Verdi's "Stabat Mater" and "Te Deum" (all very fun works) conducted by Riccardo Muti on 2/7, 2/8, and 2/9. Also various wine events, including a bicycle winery tour on 9/13. Various Slow Food Campania events, such as 9/4 8 PM "Theater of Taste" at the Solfatara, 9/5 7 PM "Labratory of Taste" at the Solfatara, and 9/6 11 AM seafood demonstration at the Wholesale Fish Market of Pozzuoli (across from Tempio di Serapide).
